Smart trick to find the size of your CAT teeth<\/h2>

When buying new teeth for your machine, it can be difficult to remember which teeth are on which bucket. <\/h5>

Most people measure the cutting edge or tooth to determine the size of the tooth. It doesn’t sound like a bad idea, but it’s actually cumbersome and inaccurate. These parts will often be affected by the natural wear and tear that occurs as the hours of operation tick by. <\/span>So when people call in to order new CAT teeth for their excavator, the size quickly becomes a guessing game. <\/span>People simply lack a bulletproof way<\/span> Finding the right size EVERY TIME. Fortunately, we have the answer for you, and it’s found in <\/span>Locking pins<\/strong>. <\/span> <\/p>

If you step back from the locking pin you can always find the tooth size.<\/span> A locking pin is unique and although it may be worn, it is by far the safest way to determine tooth size. Size guide<\/h2>

Follow this procedure to find the correct size of your teeth.<\/p>

  1. Find your locking pin (Figure 1)<\/li>
  2. Measure the diameter (C)<\/li>
  3. Measure the length (L)<\/li>
  4. Find your locking pin in the table*<\/li>
  5. Find your J-Class**<\/li>
  6. Finished<\/li><\/ol>
    * Please note that your locking pin may be worn up to 3 mm in length.
    ** The J class indicates the size: e.g. J 200 = 2″ \/ J 225 = 2.2″ \/ J 250 = 2.5″ \/ J 300 = 3″ …etc.<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
